What We Do

The Aspen Animal Shelter is a no-kill facility that provides sanctuary for domestic animals found within Pitkin County and beyond. Every dog and cat is spayed and neutered, vaccinated, micro-chipped and cared for until a responsible home is found. The shelter is a self-sustaining facility whose operating funds are provided by the boarding kennel, pet shop and grooming salon located at the shelter. The kennel provides a clean, comfortable environment for the animals of Aspen, as well as those here on vacation. Volunteers are welcomed and encouraged to walk the dogs, brush the cats, or even wash the dirty bowls.

Seth Sachson is the Director of the Aspen Animal Shelter and the President of Friends of the Aspen Animal Shelter.
